The third part of the series of real-life tales from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), often known as the citadel of Indian Marxism, narrated by a former student of JNU.

Communists believe that revolution begs for sacrifice. That’s the reason they use tribal, dalit, and poor people as guinea pigs to bring about the proletariat revolution. Following the red book in JNU, communists often target young students to work as party cadres. Continuing this rich tradition, SFI (Student Federation of India) recruited a young first year student to work for the party. The boy must have faced a difficult childhood, being born to secular parents, who decided to name him Robert Rahman Raman (or maybe inspired by Amar Akbar Anthony).

His parents must have given similarly secular names to everything. If I had to guess the name of their pet, it would probably be “Ali Always Akdu”. If his parents invite people for some rationalist party, they would surely name the party “Darul Adharmi Sangat” (DAS).

From the very first year in campus. Triple R became a full timer for SFI. Communists comrades would ask this timid personality for all sorts of petty jobs, afterall a revolution needs a waiter too! The guy failed year after year as he could not give time for his studies. Communists would preach him how education meant nothing as far as revolution is concerned. Finally he was thrown out of campus for failing to clear exams. SFI leaders asked him to become active with the state unit of SFI. He would appear in campus every year at the time of Student Union Elections to clean SFI offices, paste campaign posters across the campus, and participate in other sundry revolutionary activities.

SFI gave him a post in CPI(M) Delhi unit [Yes it exists]. Triple R kept working tirelessly for the revolution by serving tea and cleaning the office of other revolutionaries. He claimed to be from the Bhumihar Caste and every year before the JNUSU elections, he and a fellow Bhumihar comrade would make a list of all Bhumihar students in first year and reach out to each of them and play the caste-card to ask for votes during the elections. Vive La Revolution!

Triple R must have been a decent student to have cleared the JNU entrance exams but what is career and other such mundane things infront of fight against the bourgeois. Many such careers are destroyed for the sake of ‘revolution’.

This story is from 2001. At present, Triple R, after some  good advice, has restarted his studies again from DU. After 14 years, he is a student in a European University. Best of luck to him.

    I have experienced lesser similar bias when I studied in a popular Christian missionary school where my language teacher hated me along with a few more students because we were fairskinned and therefore Aryans while he was a Dravidian. He failed me in almost every exam but when I wrote my 10th std public exam, I got 78% !!. These biased teachers should be punished accordingly. Pray to God and his powerful divine justice to do justice

    Hi Navneet , I really like your stories but they are too short . They should be atleast triple in length . Please continue writing lengthy JNU chronicles . I will be the first one to buy your book “The JNU chronicles”

    Excellecnt Story—->

  • Right, I’m done with this place. I have made an official complaint to my local Walmart store about the fraud calling himself Dr. MS (note S instead of 5) who is committing the crime of impersonating me, and they are dispatching a SWAT team to take him down.

    In actual fact, I am not Dr. M5 per se, I am a student of hers. Her name was Her Royal Majesty the Princess Dr. Professor Srimati Srimati Mallika Manisi Malam Muggleminge Malayaman, hence M5 for short for those of you monkeys that can count.

    She was during her time on Earth the greatest scholar and socialist the world has ever seen and will ever see, leading the good fight against short, dark-skinned brown smelly woman-hating Hindu men and putting them in their place under our boots where they belong. She was my mentor, my guide, my muse and my gardener, and there is nobody like her. After she departed for a different planet, I took over her mantel as the world’s foremost genius, and use her name as a tribute.

    It is indescribably evil how little you bloody Hindus respect me, and by extension my mentor Dr. M5, who was no less than a Goddess on Earth (which I have now become, obviously). A crime against humanity and a crime against the Goddess that created us all (not the woman-hating male God that you superstitious fools believe in). I can only hope that the 350+ Walmart coupons I submitted when making my complaint will be sufficient to ensure a swift and deadly punishment for this heinous impostor. It took me 6 months to save those coupons, but I am willing to sacrifice chocolate for this week in order to ensure justice is done.

    Now, you will no longer be blessed with my magnificent education and knowledge. You had your chance to learn, become less superstitious, less woman-hating, and even possibly taller, whiter, cleaner and less Hindu. It’s your loss. You’re stuck with the impostor, you dirty, short, dark-skinned, smelly, greasy, dhoti-wearing, misogynistic woman-hating Hindu maggots. Goodbye.

    • Dr. MS

      M5 (M 5), how wonderfully you have spoken for yourself though you are not a HIndu. Some, if they cannot elevate, as they say among the wise, try to destroy smart people, including smart women like Dr, MS. You fit that category.

      Student of Dr.MS…not the cheap cheat imitator the guy called D. M 5 is…

        I’ve seen your posts here – nothing but hateful, bigoted, banal, trite, narcisstic non-sense full of arrogance, hypocrisy and stereotypes about Hindus. M5 blew a hole in your arrogance in an incredibly creative way and you fully deserve it. A smart or a wise person would not call them wise or smart and let others be the judge of that. You need urgent medical help.
