The Aam Aadmi Party is committed to removing corruption
Assertion
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which made an impressive debut in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, was founded on an ostensible platform of crusading against corruption in public life.
Of the various promises it made to the electorate in its manifesto, two issues are prominent because they continue to affect the daily lives of Delhi citizens: power and water.
1. AAP promises a reduction of consumers’ electricity expenditure by 50%.
2. Households using up to 700 litres of water (per day) would be given free water.
Because transparency is one of the paramount factors to ensure a clean public life, those aspiring for office on this very platform must practice what they preach and promise. The following facts will reveal where key member of the AAP stand in this regard.
Facts
The following table shows the electricity and water dues owed by various members of the AAP. Click the graphic for the full size view.
The following table shows the names of AAP candidates who have reported no income but owe various dues. Click the graphic for the full size view.
Data appearing in both tables are derived from http://myneta.info.
Verdict
It is clear from the above facts that the AAP does not practice what it preaches. Its prominent members including its founder and head, Arvind Kejriwal owe money to the Government, apart from having criminal cases filed against them. Additionally, some of its members earn no income and have declared that they are unemployed, yet owe money. Others have declared no income at all, prompting the question: how do they survive?
Most importantly, given all this, how can the electorate repose trust in such people who are not exactly above the board? And what does it say about their claims that: (a) they are not like other, established political parties, and (b) they are committed to fighting and eradicating corruption.
IndiaFacts verdict: the claim that the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to eradicating corruption in public life is False.

@ Hemen parekh: “Then I remembered that Mahatma succeeded in throwing out British from India , by changing their mind-sets / their hearts” The Mahatma, if he had a grave, would be rolling in it stunned that his name is being used to rationalize the shenanigans of a turncoat like Kejru. The Mahatma’s slogan was “Pran jaaye par vachan na jaye”. How can his example be compared to that of a man who swears a false oath on the head of his own children? In the Mahatma’s esteem then such a falsifier and liar would be an untrustworthy crook. Kejri has established a track record of such lies so much so that he is now referred to a U-Turn. He has proved false on every count practically and the only reason he is still alive in politics because he has cunningly tried to stoke the anger of the public and then use it for his own political gains. The recent debacle of his Dharna to get few poor cops showed what a mean-spirited, manipulative and crooked man this fellow is. In the end all his bravado and revolutionary theatrics came to nothing as he turned tail and scampered back to his hole with his tail between his legs, after falsely claiming a people’s victory. Can such a characterless crook be compared to the Mahatma who not only faced the greatest persecution with an iron determination but also gave courage to millions of others to do so? It would be travesty of the worst sort.
Good sujesstion but will it be practicable. AAP had taken oath on children and even media that neither AAP will give sapport nor take sapport from any other party. But did to form the government He actually did not want to miss the chance of becoming CM. It would not have been possible ifhe had alligence with BJP. (As suggested Mrs Kiran Bedi )largest party would have taken CM’s seat. That itself shows how greedy is Kejriwal who in fact posed in public as well as in media Peculiarly neither he will fight elections nor hold any office.roghu fooling people who are already Frustrated and disgusted. It is a crooked way of Kejriwal it’s alright. But what about the public Do we call them innocent or still want to experiment with new god who’s track record is full of Deceptions U turns crawling high and high stepping upon anything every thing that comes across. I am forced to believe that the party AAP itself is the creation of congress
Last Window of Opportunity ?
I have a right to ,
> change my mind
> influence others to change their minds
> even admit that I could have been wrong
Till yesterday , I supported Arvind Kejriwal that AAP should neither take nor give support to BJP / Congress , in order to form a government in Delhi
Then I remembered that Mahatma succeeded in throwing out British from India , by changing their mind-sets / their hearts
British left when they realized that,
> Entire population of India rallied behind Mahatma
> Mahatma’s weapon was , ” Love / Non-Violence / Self-purification ”
Well-meaning leaders of BJP / Congress / AAP have the same opportunity once again , after some 66 years
This time , to throw out ” Corruption / Criminalization of Politics ”
How ?
> They must come together and form ,
” ALLIANCE FOR POOR PEOPLE ( APP ) ”
> In Delhi , share Ministerial seats in following proportion,
* BJP………….5
* AAP ……… 4
* Congress…. 1
Call it ” Politics of Proportional Representation ” , where all parties
get one or more seat on the government , depending on the number
of seats won . And no fear of ever-hanging sword of ” No – Confidence ”
motion !
At some future date , this principle can be enlarged to all parties ( in
proportion to the percentage of votes won ) , even if it fails to win a
single seat – the ultimate representation of people’s will !
After that , if you wish to ” Oppose ” , then do it from within the System
No more ” Opposing without Accountability ” !
> From their respective Poll Manifestos , pick-up ” Pro – Poor ” agenda and
create a ” COMMON MINIMUM PROMISE ( CMP ) “, comprising of ,
# From BJP Manifesto
* Make a special provision in primary education for students from
rural , backward and disadvantaged groups
* Build tower blocks for slum-dwellers
* Reduce power tariff by 30 %
# From AAP Manifesto
* Install CCTV in rooms meant for registering FIR
* Run Courts in 2 shifts
* Build 200,000 public toilets
* Meet 20 % of city’s electricity needs thru solar power in 10 years
* Expand Metro rail network
* Pass Jan Lokpal Bill
* Decentralize executive power
# From Congress Manifesto
* Provide easy loans for self-employment ventures
* Implement the third phase of Yamuna Action Plan
* Enhance generation capacity by 2600 megawatts
Mahatma’s concept of ” Satyagraha ” to overcome evil forces , was an example ” Out – of – Box ” thinking
No one in the World believed that it could work
It is same with the concept of ” Politics of Proportional Representation ”
Experts and Pundits are bound to rubbish it !
But Rahul Gandhi , Rajnath Singh and Arvind Kejriwal have this very small window of opportunity to throw out the burden of historical baggage
Their names will get prominence in India’s Resurrection , if they grab it !

AAP = Congress – Gandhis. It’s the same old socialist / secularist poison only this bottle is spanking new and not a rotting century old container. It is even worse than Congress because at least once, perhaps during the age of Gandhi, there were at least some ideals. But AAP starts out on the basis of falsehood, accusing everyone of corruption so that it and it alone should be given votes. If people will still vote for AAP then that is only because they are easily fooled.
