In the ongoing visit to China by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this infographic pithily explains what the visit holds for both the countries in terms of economics, development, technology, the future of BRICS, and other important areas. THe Economist dateline 31st March, 2011 had published an entire issue on the same subject matter. At the end of it,the author had called “The elected representatives in the parliament & the states ; & the babus of the govt. ; as “leeches”, gnawing at the entrails of the ;lay people, the Rayat at large. QED.
It is wonderful what PM Ji is doing to put more corrupt party officials, businessmen and other ordinary citizens into jail. Though some of the financial criminals he is going after have become fugitives in the US and other countries, which now offers green cards for anyone investing, or more like paying, $ 500,000 or more – usually in real estate, job creation or tourism, etc. Not much job creation going on…but lot of New York condominiums and real estate being bought by Chinese businessmen, and fugitives and/or financial fraudsters. It is not a perfect Fox Hunt…but a good start PM Ji..
There are too many in India who attack the smartest person in the room, and drive them down everywhere. The mediocrity in this country is truly shocking…and people seem to want to keep the status quo. And fear of the smart woman is so high that tearing people apart emotionally seems to be full time job for some. How tragic that those who need counseling and mental health insights the most in India are in political power and net domination. Many could not work at the highest level internationally in a smart sophisticated way. And when one tries to be sophisticated human monkeys drag them down to the lowest level so they can feel good. A frog in the well mentality with a crab in a glass jar behavior. Imagine Modi and I having to work with this everyday. International travels and migrations are so much more attractive.

It would be puerile to expect that China treats us as an equal partner. The optics of the visit are all good but let’s not also forget the differences on some core issues, for they shall remain the driving force of Indo-China relationship. All we should strive for a reasonable working relationship.
(Btw, the map in that ‘reverse innovation’ is missing PoK. We can not claim to be a knowledge based society unless we are very diligent.)
