Why is no research, to get at the facts and the truth, not being supported?
Are you suggesting that Muslim women are treated the way you have mentioned Hindu men do not treat Hindu women?
Very true. Early Christians made widows wards of the church. The early church looked after them, and this is attributed as one of the reasons of its exponential growth. There is too much importance accorded to the married couple in Hindu social
customs. Single
people find
themselves excluded
from many rituals, and therefore
feel alienated from
society, especially so
the women, as there
are many women
centric customs like
haldi-kumkum and
sindoor khela.
Evangelists have
identified especially
the newly widowed
hindu women as
vulnerable to christian
conversion as they tend to
feel abandoned and alone, without
any hindu social
support. Our customs
need to evolve to allow
anybody whether
single or married to
feel equal and cared
for in hindu society. In the nuclear family scenario, the absence of support is especially hurtful.
“Hindu women are brought up with so little respect”
“cultural patriarchy and its hatred for single women,”
What are you talking about ? South India certainly doesn’t have this issue. Vijayanagara was fairly liberal. I’ve been to university there, and I never saw discrimination, eve-teasing or any such thing.
Perhaps it has to with that Muslim inculturation that people always admire so moronically ? Have you done any research on that instead of peddling usual lines put out by Hinduphobes ?
“roots and reasoned understanding of their own culture and heritage?”
This is widespread in both boys and girls.
“Hindu men have to look at themselves critically, and see how they contribute to this problem.”
There we go again with the Hindu men.
Hinduism doesn’t talk in “they” vs “us” language, and there is no conversion rule. So when a Hindu marry a non Hindu she/he wouldn’t be too unwilling to convert specially when their awareness levels are low. In case of muslim, xtian, conversion ‘in’ is allowed but converting ‘out’ is strictly disallowed. That’s the reason- not because of Hindu men’s mentality as such. You seems to have too much bias against Hindu men I guess 🙂
m sorry ma’am…..u seeming to have extreme bias against Hindu Male…….u always preach rationality, research n blah blah……bt, u urself r biased towards Hindu Male….in every 2nd post…u nag against Hindu Male…..its not fair……we r not Ideal….bt we r not even worst…..Its d Developed Women attitude world wide dat they criticize their own community man and praise others………western women praise Indian Male for their being extra sensitive towards women or loyalty or permanency in relationship…..while demonizing their own man,….our developed women demonizing owr own man and praise others…..russian women criticize their own man and praise others…….its d universal behavior pattern among developed women who have been in multi cultural society……may be due to bad experience of medieval age custom n belief………
2ndly……..suppose dere r 2 groups…..1st: secular/liberal 2nd:orthodox/conservative/fanatics/communal…..
now….it wud be very easy to convert people esp. gals from 1st group….bt it wud be difficult from 2nd group……..its natural…….
its easy to convert western white women as they r far liberal…..then Indian women…….Muslim r too fanatics so..very less conversion…………
hope u understood it……
btw……m agreed wid u dat love/car widin family is crucial things including strict discipline and valued upbringing……
